It is signed in ink by the artist, professionally framed, triple matted, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity, attached to the back. Krasnyansky's art features two distinct styles – one depicts Russian and European cityscapes and the other, more recently developed, focuses on surreal figural compositions. The offered collotype represents the artist's earlier style, which is increasingly difficult to find. Please note that we have a second collotype by Krasnyansky in our inventory, from the same series of European urban landscapes. It is listed separately.

Dimensions of collotype inside the frame: 15.5" x 20.5" (39.5 x 52 cm).

Anatole Krasnyansky’s art is rooted in contrasts: old and new, history and imagination, structure and surrealism. Trained as an architect, Krasnyansky (1930-) alternates between painting rich, expressive cityscapes and exaggerated Cubist figures. His contrasting styles are driven and enriched by the cultural dichotomy between his early life in the former Soviet Union and his later life in the United States. Krasnyansky was born in Kiev, Ukraine. He studied architectural restoration at the School of Architecture at the Kiev State Art Institute (now the Ukraine State Art Academy) as well as at the Leningrad Academy of Art. Highlights of his architectural career include working on the restoration of Russian architectural treasures, including Potemkin’s Palace, the Marble Palace, and the Hermitage Museum. Krasnyansky developed a unique process of textural watercolor painting, where color relationships and architectural features reference East European cultures. The offered artwork represents precisely this style. Currently living and working in Los Angeles, Krasnyansky had numerous international exhibitions. His art is highly valued and can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
